Steak & Ale Pie
Ingredients
- 1 X Steak & Ale Pie
- 200g X Mash Potato or 200g
- Skin-on Chips
- 70g X Carrots
- 70g X Savoy Cabbage
- 100ml X Gravy
- 10g X Salted Dairy Butter
- 1/10 X Egg
- 1g X Sea Salt
- 1g X Cracked Black Pepper
Pre-Stage
- 1 1. Pre-portion the mash, with 5g butter, salt and pepper
- 2 2. Defrost the pie
- 3 3. Wash, peel and chunky chop the carrots, blanch & cool
- 4 4. Wash and chop the cabbage, blanch & cool
- 5 5. Make the gravy as per manufacturer’s guidance
Method
- 1 1. Place the pie on a plate, add a splash of water, cover and microwave for
- 2 40 seconds, egg wash, finish in the oven
- 3 2. Reheat the mash or deep fry the chips, season with sea salt
- 4 3. Reheat the gravy
- 5 4. Oil, season and roast the carrots
- 6 5. Sauté the cabbage in the remaining 5g of butter
- 7 6. Serve as shown
