Steak & Ale Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 X Steak & Ale Pie
  • 200g X Mash Potato or 200g
  • Skin-on Chips
  • 70g X Carrots
  • 70g X Savoy Cabbage
  • 100ml X Gravy
  • 10g X Salted Dairy Butter
  • 1/10 X Egg
  • 1g X Sea Salt
  • 1g X Cracked Black Pepper

Pre-Stage

  1. 1 1. Pre-portion the mash, with 5g butter, salt and pepper
  2. 2 2. Defrost the pie
  3. 3 3. Wash, peel and chunky chop the carrots, blanch & cool
  4. 4 4. Wash and chop the cabbage, blanch & cool
  5. 5 5. Make the gravy as per manufacturer’s guidance

Method

  1. 1 1. Place the pie on a plate, add a splash of water, cover and microwave for
  2. 2 40 seconds, egg wash, finish in the oven
  3. 3 2. Reheat the mash or deep fry the chips, season with sea salt
  4. 4 3. Reheat the gravy
  5. 5 4. Oil, season and roast the carrots
  6. 6 5. Sauté the cabbage in the remaining 5g of butter
  7. 7 6. Serve as shown
